Program and Family Participation for the 2025 Spring Arrival Orientation

Information as of January 14, 2025.

Family Participation

This a family-friendly event, so if you have spouse and/or children with you, they are warmly welcome to come to join us for the orientation. However, the family members’ travel to and from the orientation must be covered by the grantee. Please let us know in the registration survey if your family members would like to participate in some parts of the orientation so that we can plan for meals and local transportation.

Children are welcome to attend the orientation events, with the exception of the University of Helsinki  reception (which children cannot unfortunately attend). However, please note that much of the program can be tiring for small children. Unfortunately, we are not able to arrange child care during the event.

These parts of the program might be interesting for children, too:

  • Program at the Hotel Korpilampi on Tuesday evening
  • Lunch and City Tour on Wednesday
  • Program at the Sibelius Upper Secondary School on Thursday

As the program is still being finalized, there is a chance that some parts of the program will be for grantees only due to space limitations.

Read information below on the program, travel and accommodation, pre-materials to be completed, and get to know our speakers during the Arrival Orientation.

Please note that sign-up for family members is binding.

We will not be able to get money back if we reserve meals and accommodation for family members who do not show up. After filling in the registration form, you can choose to receive a copy of your answer via email and they are accessible for 90 days (you will be redirected to www.fulbright.fi frontpage after you have submitted your answers).

We will be adding the itinerary on this page closer to the orientation, and it also includes joining family members' information.
