The Fulbright Finland Foundation offers grants for Finnish educators, experts and professionals of various fields. These grants allow you to grow your professional expertise, deepen your understanding of U.S. culture and values, widen your international network, and bring something new to your field in Finland.

ASLA-Fulbright Mid-Career Professional Development Grant (MCPD)

This grant is aimed for mid-career professionals in various fields who wish to grow their professional expertise and gain new insights through a project related to their profession. Grantees conduct a professional development project in one or more host-organizations in the U.S. and bring back something new to their field in Finland.

Seeking Solutions for Global Challenges Award

A special grant opportunity for Finnish professionals who want to impact the future and make a difference, finding solutions to current and global challenges through their professional projects. The award is available for any field.

 Fulbright Distinguished Awards in Teaching (Fulbright DAI)

This semester-long program is for primary and secondary school teachers, who wish to gain fresh perspectives and deepen their understanding of an educational topic of their choice by pursuing an inquiry project, auditing courses for professional development at a host university in the U.S., visiting schools, and by sharing expertise with teachers and students.

Fulbright Finnish Language and Culture Teaching Assistant Program (FLTA) 

Assisting in Finnish language and culture teaching duties at a U.S. university. Additionally, the grantee can do additional master's or doctoral-level studies and research by attending university courses without paying tuition fees. This one academic year-long program is for early career professionals, and master's and doctoral level students.

 Study of the U.S. Institutes for Secondary School Educators 

These intensive five-week programs with integrated study tours are designed to strengthen curricula and improve the quality of teaching about the United States in secondary schools and other academic institutions. The programs give secondary school educators, administrators, teacher trainers, curriculum developers and textbook writers a chance to deepen their understanding of the U.S. society, education, and culture. All program related costs are covered.

 Study of the U.S. Institutes for Scholars and Professionals

These intensive academic programs focus on distinct themes and give scholars and professionals an opportunity to deepen their understanding of American society, culture, values, and institutions. All program related costs are covered.

Fulbright Leaders for Global Schools Travel Grants to the U.S.

These travel grants take Finnish school administrators to the U.S. for an intensive four-day professional development program to expand their knowledge about educational leadership and network with international colleagues.

Fulbright-National Archives Heritage Science Fellowship

A grant for professionals to connect with National Archives scientists and experts while conducting research at the National Archives’ state-of-the-art Heritage Science Research and Testing Lab in College Park, Maryland.
